Patrick..my artwork does not come from photos..I start with a polipro synthetic watercolor paper..and I use watercolor inks concentrated..it has been a trial by error..and lots of it..I lost my first 30 paintings after I had them matted and framed..I came home from a guiding some friends kayaking and all the paintings had faded..they looked like ghost images...over the course of a year..I have learned different trechniques..I do layers...and it takes up to a week or more for each layer to dry..on some of my paintings I use feathers and granite stones to add some design to the painting..My studio has the look of someone doing laundry and hanging them all out to dry..If you get a chance to look at my studio photos you can see what I mean..by the end of the 4 week,,I pretty much have the faith to then scan them so I can show them on my facebook page and this website..the only thing that disappoints me is that my scanner is only 11 by 17 and most of my paintings are larger..so I have to leave some of it behind..I am going to try photographing them so I do not have to loose any of it...I found that this technique is time consuming and you have to have a lot of patience..but I mange to do beteween 3-5 paintings a day and keep them flowing..I then write the poetry to tell their stories..these I have on my Facebook Page under notes..I am in the process of making my own books with the artwork and poems..Thank you for taking the time to look at my work..and if you want to know anything more, let me know..Have a great day! Wopila Tanka..many thanks.. julie

I looked at your pictures and they are the tops. Great stuff. What is the technique you use to get those results? Looks like a photo with watercolor applied over it. Let me know. Thanks, Patrick Raffaelo
