Description
Pictorial Map of the English County of Sussex, designed by the well-known Anglo-American artist & pictorial cartographer. Ernest Clegg [1876-1954]. The map was one of a sadly incomplete series of finely crafted English county maps published in England shortly after the end of the Second War to raise funds for the Women's Land Army Benevolent Fund - those thousands of women volunteers who helped on Britain's farms and kept British food supplies secure thoughout the war years. The map is dedicated to the Women's Land Army President, Lady Denman.
